The Application of HPMC in Putty Powder

HPMC can play the functions of thickening, water retention, construction in putty powder.

1. Thickening: Fiber can increase thickening, suspension, playing a role of making the solution uniform, upper and lower consistent role, anti-flow and anti-hanging.

2. Water retention: Making the putty powder dry more slowly, assist the auxiliary lime and calcium reaction under the action of water

3. Workability: Fiber has a lubricant function, making the putty powder a better workability

HPMC does not participate in any chemical reaction, whatsoever but only plays an auxiliary role. Putty powder and water on the wall is a chemical reaction, because the formation of new substances, making putty powder on the wall down from the wall, grounding into powder and you can’t use it anymore because it has already formed a new material (calcium carbonate). The main component of sierozem is: Ca (OH), a mixture of 2 CaO and a small amount of CaCO3, CaO+H2O=Ca (OH) 2 —Ca(OH)2+CO2=CaCO3↓+H2O, Calcium carbonate generates calcium carbonate under the action of CO2 in water and air, while HPMC is only water retaining and helps the lime calcium react better. Itself never participates in any reaction, whatsoever.
